Dental Crowns that Fit Everyone
A crown is a good way to protect and change the look of teeth that are weak, damaged by tooth decay, misshapen, or severely stained. You will be pleased to know that there are several types of crowns to choose from.
Traditionally, for a lab-made crown, a patient can expect two separate appointments. At the first appointment, Dr. Foster will reshape the problematic tooth, take impressions, and place a temporary crown. Then, he will send the impressions to a trusted dental lab. Once your permanent crown has been delivered, you can come back for the final fitting and bonding.
CEREC Same-Day Crowns
Back in 1997, Dr. Foster was the first dentist in Tennessee to use this revolutionary ceramic milling technology for his patients. Chairside Economic Restorations of Esthetic Ceramics (CEREC) technology, utilizes computer-assisted design and manufacturing to create custom-fitted crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers in a single visit.
Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays, or partial dental crowns, can help restore the beauty, health, and performance of a problematic tooth. An inlay is placed into the area of a tooth between the cusps. An onlay begins as an inlay, except it extends over one or more cusps of the tooth. Depending on your unique needs, we can create ceramic inlays and onlays, in-house, using CEREC technology, or we can have them created in a dental lab.
