Dentures and Partials
Dentures are a time-tested solution to replace missing teeth that will dramatically improve your appearance and your ability to eat and speak normally. Depending on the situation, Dr. Foster may suggest full dentures if you have lost all the teeth on your top or bottom arch, or partial dentures that fit around your remaining natural teeth.
Bridges are a popular choice for replacing a single missing tooth. They can even be used in situations where a patient has lost two teeth right next to each other. Dental bridges can be removable or fixed, and they typically require two separate appointments to place. Once secured, a dental bridge can restore your normal speaking and chewing ability, help you feel more confident about your smile, and help maintain proper spacing among the rest of your teeth.
Dental Implant Restorations
Dental implants mimic the full root-and-crown structure of a natural tooth. If you qualify for dental implants, Dr. Foster will refer you to a trusted oral surgeon who will surgically place biocompatible titanium implant(s) into your jaw. Once an implant post has become fully integrated with the jawbone, you can return to Dr. Foster’s office where he will secure your crown, bridge, or full denture. Dental implants offer a number of benefits, including they:
- Are more secure than dentures or partials
- Are impervious to tooth decay
- Help maintain proper spacing of the remaining teeth
- Help maintain healthy jawbone density
- Offer the longest-lasting dental prosthetic currently available
